If you want a quick revision of the history of the United States Air Force (USAF) – this video is like a crash course on American military aircraft: from the F-22 Raptor to the F-5 Tiger II and P-51 Mustang.
The F-22 Raptor Aerial Demonstration Team performed during the Heritage Flight Training Conference 2023 back in March last year.
And it’s a stunning visual display of aviation.

The F-22 Raptor Demo Team has a mission to ‘recruit, retain, and inspire the future force’, per Staff Sgt. Michael Bowman, part of the 1st Fighter Wing, who posted the video.
Their task is achieved by showcasing the ‘unmatched air power of the modern United States Air Force’.
“The Heritage flight showcases the history and development of the USAF throughout the storied history of aviation,” he said.
The stunning display of military air power was filed at the Davis–Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, US.
First up, the F-22 Raptor is the fastest fifth-generation fighter jet in the world.
The F-22 Raptor is a combination of stealth, supersonic speed, and maneuverability.
It produces a vapor trail that is formed due to a low-pressure zone created by the plane.
While it represents an exponential leap in war-fighting capabilities, we might see a successor to the F-22 in the next few years.
The condensation effect is mainly due to the low-pressure zone created by the plane pitching up.
As it travels, its airframe causes a pressure difference that causes the humidity to condense into a cloud.
The F-5 Tiger II is an agile, highly maneuverable, and reliable supersonic fighter.
It’s a sweet spot of advanced aerodynamic design, engine performance, and low operating costs.
More than 2,600 of the F-5 Tiger II were built by Northrop Grumman and it first took to the skies in 1963.
The P-51 Mustang, meanwhile, was among the best-known fighters used by USAF during World War II.
Marrying range and maneuverability, the P-51 Mustang operated primarily as a long-range escort fighter and ground attack fighter bomber.
