This is the new Ferrari 12Cilindri, and the first thing we need to point out is, as the name suggests, it’s powered by a good ol’ V12.

And it’s a beast, too.

Unveiled ahead of the upcoming Miami GP as a successor to the 812 Superfast, the 12Cilindri is Ferrari’s newest flagship 12-cylinder supercar.

In fact, that’s what the name means, because 12Cilindri (Dodici Cilindri) is Italian for 12 cylinders.

And there’s something else to point out because there’s a coupe version and a Spider version, too.

Inside, you’ll find the layout that Ferrari has been using and perfecting since the 458 Italia.

There’s the ‘busy’ steering wheel, with a lot of dials and switches, including the ‘Manettino’ to change the driving mode.

And you’ve got three displays: the instrument cluster, the passenger display, and then – of course – the main 10.25-inch infotainment screen.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna recently spoke about a potential electric supercar, and he said the new car ‘won’t be quiet’ like a Tesla.

Fortunately, that’s a conversation that we can happily postpone because – with its massive meaty V12 – the new 12Cilindri is anything but quiet.

And the noise it makes, albeit enhanced by all kinds of valves and software, is not artificial.

It comes from a 6.5-liter heart producing 819 horsepower, the Ferrari 12Cilindri does 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and 0-125 mph (200 km/h) in 7.8 seconds.

The top speed is 217 mph – or 350 km/h.

The engine – it goes without saying – is at the front.

This layout dictates the shape and proportions, and the 12Cilindri comes in with a sleek, streamlined body, even though the wheelbase is actually marginally shorter than that of the 812.

At the back, you’ve got a sizable 270-liter trunk, which is also where the hard-top roof goes (in 14 seconds) when you want to drive with the wind in your hair.

The 21-inch aluminum wheels complete the look.

Production is not limited, and deliveries are scheduled for late 2024 for the coupe, and for early 2025 for the Spider.
