With the EV brand about as forward-looking as you can get, it makes sense that this modern-day DeLorean was based around a Tesla Model X.
Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano was invited to Florida to check out the world’s first and only TMC-12x, aka the Tesla time machine.
The Model X Plaid has been converted to replicate the famous car from Back To The Future – and it’s pretty impressive.

The heavily modified Tesla Model X Plaid has some unique modifications.
These include a custom interior with time-travel-themed controls, ‘flux bands’, and ‘flux capacitator’ to ‘power’ it – just like in the movie.
And yes: it even shoots flames out the back.
The one-of-a-kind custom car was modified by The Shop vehicle repair shop in Tampa, Florida in the US.
While the futuristic car is a Tesla, so it’s obviously all-electric, the car’s sound system simulates engine noises, creating an authentic driving experience – just like the one in Back To The Future.

Additionally, the modded Tesla features the iconic gullwing doors to get in and out.
Step inside and there’s a whole control panel that fans of the franchise will love.
‘Buttons’ include a flamethrower, jet-fuel controls, and even an ‘eject’ button, just in case.
And the pièce de résistance is a time travel dial that lets you pick your destination in time.
And no homage to the DeLorean would be complete without accessories.
Various nods to the movie include a hoverboard prop and a custom license plate, which reads ‘Out of Gas’ instead of ‘Out of Time’.
The DeLorean Alpha5 also dropped earlier this year – and it’s stunning.
