If you’re a long-standing Apple iPhone user, there’s a good chance you’ve run into some problems with the battery over the years.

After a few years, the battery doesn’t last as long as it used to, but the good news is there are some simple things you can do to help prolong its life.

In a fix, you can pop your phone into ‘Low Power Mode’ until you’re able to plug in your charger – but there are a couple of other ways you can maximize your battery’s staying power.

According to the tech giant, it doesn’t matter what model iPhone you have, you can stretch out the time between charges by simply adjusting the brightness of your screen.

Seems obvious, right? But I bet if you went and checked your settings right now, you’d find your brightness is right up.

The other option is to switch your phone to Wi-Fi – as this uses less juice than Mobile Data.

Apple explains: “There are two simple ways you can preserve battery life — no matter how you use your device: adjust your screen brightness and use Wi‑Fi.

“Dim the screen or turn on Auto-Brightness to extend battery life. To dim, open Control Centre and drag the Brightness slider to the bottom.

“Auto-Brightness adjusts your screen to lighting conditions automatically. To activate it, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations and set Auto-Brightness to On.

“When you use your device to access data, a Wi‑Fi connection uses less power than a mobile network — so keep Wi‑Fi on at all times. To turn on Wi‑Fi, go to Settings > Wi‑Fi to access a Wi‑Fi network.”

And these aren’t the only tips out there.

A former Apple employee recently shared some another easy way to save your iPhone’s battery and prolong its life – and it’s bad news for those who leave their phones on charge overnight.

According to the ex-employee, our phones last longer if they are only charged to 80 percent – so much so that iPhone 15 models even include a function to limit the percentage that the smartphone will charge to.

In your Settings app, go into ‘Battery Health and Charging’, ‘Charging Optimization’ and you can choose between ‘Optimized Battery Charging’ and ‘80% limit’. Simple, right?
