Rapper-turned-producer, 50 Cent, splashed a lot of cash on a car that is now worth a fraction of the amount he spent on it.

Years ago, the 48-year-old star spent around $1.5 million on a custom-built Formula 1-style car.

He sold it years later for about 90 percent less than that.

A one-off created for 50 Cent

Inspired by F1 cars and the Lunar module, the one-off built especially for 50 Cent was named the ‘White Lightning Jet Car’.

The vehicle was built by Parker Brothers Concepts, a company that created several movie cars and prototypes in the past, including the AMG GT-inspired Erebos X.

From the chassis to the interior, the one-off jet car that 50 Cent commissioned was built entirely from scratch.

It’s powered by an electric powertrain capable of generating up to 400 horsepower.

Unfortunately, the Parker Brothers never really shared a lot of information about it, in fact, they tried to keep the car a secret.

50 Cent’s strange relationship with money

It’s fair to say 50 Cent took an L on this particular investment, but that’s rare for him.

Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson came from nothing and, after making a lot of cash with his music, he started splashing out on lavish things.

He had a different car for every day of the week, and once famously bought Mike Tyson’s mansion in Connecticut, US.

However, after filing for bankruptcy in 2015, he totally changed the way he spends his money.

As of 2024, he’s essentially retired from making music, and he now spends most of his time and energy producing highly profitable TV shows, including the award-winning show ‘Power’ on Starz.

As a result, 50 Cent is now possibly wealthier than he’s ever been, and the fact that he’s no longer spending $1.5 million on custom-made cars certainly helps.
