And it looks just as fascinating as it did when he bought it.

The YouTuber who bought the jet, who goes by Jimmys World on the platform, has shared several videos over the last 18 months to keep viewers up to date with progress.
Now, the job is done.
After 18 months, this is certainly a great result.

The story behind Elvis Presley’s jet
The 1962 Lockheed 1329 JetStar, owned by one of history’s greatest rock stars, had spent four decades rotting in the desert.
Right after buying it for about $230,000, the YouTuber tried to power it up.
It took him several weeks of work and a lot more money, but he eventually pulled it off.
But this was a fruitless effort, because even though the plane did start, Jimmy quickly realized it would’ve been impossible to make the jet fly again.
That’s when he decided to turn it into an RV, and why he spent the last 18 months documenting progress through his YouTube channel.
After a heap of hard work, it’s finally ready.

The real reason why the jet can’t fly
Right after buying the plane, Jimmy shared a YouTube video explaining what he needed to do to make the plane fly again.
After carefully breaking down the cost, Jimmy concluded it would take nearly $6 million to make it fly again.
Yet, as wild as it may sound, this isn’t the real reason why the jet can’t fly.

The problem is, even if Jimmy that kind of cash, he still wouldn’t be able to fly the jet due to safety regulations.
The jet is simply too old, and therefore obsolete, so it would never be deemed airworthy again.
Still, at least Jimmy’s plan B worked out just fine.
