In 2023, Hyundai breathed a new life into its 1974 Pony Coupe Concept, and the car is sure to make you feel like you’re a jet pilot.
The dashboard of the car feels reminiscent of a cockpit on a jet, all while keeping the minimalist design.
The Hyundai Pony Coupe has made a comeback nearly 50 years after its original debut, retaining its retro design while incorporating the latest technology.

Coming back to the dashboard, it also features classic analog controls and gauges, giving it a vintage cockpit feel.
The design is clean and straightforward, with a single-spoke steering wheel and an uncluttered layout.
Akin to the dashboard, one can also not overlook the classy interior and color combination given to the Pony coupe concept.
The seats and door panels are upholstered in a soft light blue fabric, while the floor mats have a beige finish. The added gray and black colors also give more elegance to the interior.
“The restoration of this unique vehicle is a milestone in Hyundai’s history. It represents our beginnings and our commitment to the future,” said Hyundai’s Chief Creative Officer, Luc Donckerwolke.
According to him, “It serves as a legacy for generations to come. It virtually symbolizes the mobile relay baton we are passing from the past to the future of the company.”
Stylish and classy car exterior
With the brand introducing wild concept cars like this and the hydrogen-powered supercar scheduled for 2026, Donckerwolke’s words sure do hold up.
Coming to the exterior of the car, it looks similar to the 1974 model – albeit a bit more refined.
Those sharp lines, a smooth roof, and a pointed front also keep the car stylish and up-to-date.
The 1974 model of the car was first introduced at the Turin Motor Show.
Unfortunately, due to the economic challenges, the car never made it to production.
But it was clear that Hyundai had a shiny future ahead.
