Cars can be surprising – hilariously surprising indeed, just like this Chevrolet C8 Corvette.
The car has been hiding a fish on the side all these years – not a real one, but definitely not worth overlooking once you see it.
It’s one of those quirky details that’s hard to catch until someone points it out.

A fish hiding on the Chevrolet C8 Corvette
The clever detail on the car went viral after an account called Corvette Club on Instagram posted a photo of a man named David Shephard pointing out the design on the C8 Chevrolet Corvette.

David wrote, “I can’t unsee the salmon on the rear quarter….”
As we can see in the photo, the gas cap on the car cleverly forms the eye of the fish, and the Y-shaped intake trim creates its open mouth.
Together, these elements give the rear of the Corvette a fish-like appearance.
It’s as if the fish is ready to gulp the prey, just like we expect this car to devour its opponents on the track.
Not the only ‘fish design’ car

This fishy theme might be amusing, but it’s not the first time we saw something hilarious like this.
Fans of the Mitsuoka Orochi, for instance, have long noticed how the front of that car resembles a drunk fish.
Back to the Corvette, the other models of car also feature a similar fish pattern on the side, but with slight difference due to the small tweaks in the design.

The comments on the post were hilarious, with one user commenting, “I will never see it the same again.”
Another user wrote, “Looks like an eel.”
Another quirky comment read, “Gotta paint it up and embrace the salmon.”
It might just be the best Easter egg ever hidden on a sports car, even if this ‘fish’ won’t be splashing around anytime soon.
