Urban explorers discovered more than 20 abandoned Saab vehicles in a closed down dealership in France.

Swedish car fancutrer Saab Automobile AB launched back in 1945.

It produced dozens of models over the following decades, including its best-selling vehicle the Saab 900.

But its success wasn’t to last and Saab announced bankruptcy in 2011 and the company officially closed up for good in 2016.

The Saab dealership

When the company went belly-up, many dealerships switched to selling other makes and models—but it seems this one in France didn’t and instead decided to shut up shop.

The somewhat creepy and deserted dealership has since become a real time capsule, packed with long-forgotten Saabs.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first defunct dealership that has been unearthed by urban explorers.

We’ve previously seen a Peugeot showroom that had been abandoned, a supercar showroom that suffered the same fate, and a dealership that time forgot in Japan

Meanwhile, back in France – this former Saab dealership had been closed for more than a decade when the guys from Forgotten Buildings paid it a visit.

Situated on a large business park, the dealership has a large windows allowing a peek inside at the abandoned vehicles.

But, naturally, that wasn’t enough for the urban explorers who made their way inside for a closer look.

The dealership also had Citreons, Renaults, and Peugots

Inside the showroom, there are a couple of Saab 9-3s and one 9-5 – the cars’ don’t appear to be new, with paperwork inside one noting 59,608 miles (95,930km) on the odometer.

However, they largely appear to have been in good shape until vandals broke into the showroom and removed tires, smashed windows and did some other damage to the cars.

Despite the damage, none of the cars appeared to be beyond repair.

Moving on from the showroom, the dealership housed a workshop that was packed with 20 cars – mostly Saabs, including some that appeared to be from the 1990s, but also French-made Renaults, Citroëns and some Peugeots.

It’s unclear why the cars weren’t rescued or snapped up by another dealership when the dealership closed, but it’s sad to see so many cars left to rot.
