A car enthusiast was left ‘heartbroken’ after discovering an abandoned Aston Martin v12 Vantage that had been parked for more than a decade.

The V12 Vantage was released back in 2009 – teaming classic Aston Martin good looks with a powerful 5.0 liter V12.

The stunning car is the sort of vehicle any car-lover would be delighted to add to his collection.

However, this one ended up abandoned in a field for years and is now in serious need of some TLC.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage was in a shocking state

The Aston Martin Vantage V12 was discovered by Colin Smith, known online as The Bearded Explorer, who you may remember as the guy who visited the ‘biggest and best’ car scrapyard, or from the time he found an abandoned Ferrari F1 car on a derelict farm.

The urban explorer is used to uncovering long-lost vehicles and abandoned motors, but even he was left heartbroken after seeing what had become of an Aston Martin Vantage V12.

“I cannot believe the condition of this car,” he explained in the clip.

“It is heartbreaking to see that it has been left here since 2013. This is absolutely criminal.

“This is one of those cars where you really don’t want to see the brambles growing through the wiper blades.”

It sure is.

‘This should never happen to a car like this’

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage is clearly worse for wear following its time exposed to the elements with the body and its paintwork looking old, tattered and tired.

The windows are covered in condensation, meaning it is hard to see inside the vehicle, but – somewhat incredibly – the doors on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage have been left unlocked.

After Smith opened the doors, a quick glance was able to confirm that the inside hadn’t fared much better than the outside.

The interiors were strewn with cobwebs and what looked like mold, while the passenger side door appeared to have its inner panel pulled off.

“This should never happen to a car like this, it such is a shame,” he added.

And it’s impossible to disagree.
