Man rebuilding Elvis Presley’s jet reveals his amazing progress

When the guy who bought the jet that used to belong to Elvis Presley finally realized the plane would never fly again, he came up with a new plan.

And his plan is now taking shape.

There’s a long list of reasons to explain why Elvis Presley’s jet will never see the clouds again.

The 1962 Lockheed 1329 JetStar owned by one of history’s greatest rock stars spent four decades rotting away in the desert.

This, as you can imagine, took a heavy toll.

Even though James Web from Jimmy’s World did manage to power it up for the first time in decades, it would take nearly $6 million to make it fly-worthy.

And even if Jimmy that kind of cash, he still wouldn’t be able to fly the jet due to safety regulations.

So he’s decided to transform it into a luxury RV.

Jimmy has been documenting progress through his YouTube channel, and after a few months, the ‘Elvis Presley jet’ project is looking good.

A few mechanical issues has been fixed, and the interior is starting to look good.

This is a bit of a ‘living’ project but, put simply, the idea is get rid of the components needed to fly and replace it with the chassis, underpinnings and powertrain suitable for an RV.

At that point, the interior will be revamped completely to emphasize its luxury.

As things stand, the plane is fitted with vintage velour upholstery that has 1960s written all over it.

It’s a great place to start, but it obviously needs some more work.
