In a beautiful mix of anger, grief, excitement, resentment, and overbearing joy, these American muscle heroes finally made a Hellcat Redeye Magnum simply because Dodge refused to.

The Dodge Magnum was one of very few roaring giants that the brand never made into official Hellcats.

For one reason or another, the Magnums were killed off before the Hellcat build came into play.

But that’s only opened the door for others to finish what Dodge started and finally make a Hellcat Redeye Magnum.

YouTube mechanics finally make a Hellcat Redeye Magnum

The Dodge Hellcat range can be blistering in speed and power.

It has proven as much as the ramped-up Charger has left many drag race experts in the dirt.

But this specialist car mod isn’t always easy to play around with.

Many people have tried their own Hellcat restorations and have been bit by costly repairs or piles of issues.

Still, it is possible to make a Hellcat even better, and these guys have now done what Dodge has never managed: Creating a Hellcat Redeye Magnum.

The YouTube team over at ThatDudeinBlue was generously provided a Hellcat Redeye engine ahead of the Roadkill Nights (a renowned festival celebrating everything Dodge and everything muscular).

But instead of putting this gargantuan 807HP engine into the usual Charger or Challenger, the team settled on creating an ultra-rare manual Magnum.

The build was no easy feat though.

Despite thoughts that the engine would slip into the manual car quite nicely, it was quickly evident why Dodge didn’t even bother.

Modifications to the fuel system, clutch, brakes, and transmission were just the tip of the iceberg.

The YouTube specialists struggled to find motor mounts that would hold such a beastly engine while issues continued to arise when a faulty slave cylinder meant the transmission had to be ripped out and tinkered with.

But after some painstaking work, the Hellcat Redeye Magnum was alive.

How did the Dodge Magnum Hellcat perform?

So, was this Frankenstein’s monster of a car worth the time and effort?

Well, the car took a lot of tinkering to have a clutch that would perform burnouts and donuts properly.

This magnificent creation wasn’t quite the best ride in Dodge’s arsenal, but given the Magnum is a mere wagon and hardly a staple racecar, it was never going to rip burnouts better than a Charger.

Still, the Hellcat Redeye Magnum deserves a round of applause and a prime place on the mantelpiece of the best mods we’ve seen.
