An American man on TikTok recounted his experience of using a gas-powered Nissan loaner car after he had to take his Tesla EV to the workshop.

The roof of the TikTok user’s garage fell onto the Tesla, so it had to be taken to the shop.

After that incident, he got a Nissan Altima as his loaner, but he didn’t seem too happy with the car they’d given him.

The video clearly shows that the TikTok user Joe Fay (@jf.okay) couldn’t wait to get his Tesla back home.

The Tesla owner had a nightmare experience with the Nissan

First of all, when the EV owner went to unlock the car, he couldn’t do it as the Nissan’s main key had died.

So he had to use the backup fob.

The problems didn’t end there, though.

As he got into the car, he realized the dealer had not filled the gas tank and that it was virtually empty.

That meant he had to drive to a gas station, pay up to $50 to fill up, and then head back again.

In the video, Fay is clearly very irritated that the dealership has left him with an extra bill for gas he might not fully use.

The Tesla owner then claims he can recharge his EV at home for around $2.

A significant saving on what it costs to refill the Nissan.

On the one hand, these are pretty minor issues.

For example, the dealer should have filled the car with fuel.

However, there is the convenience factor of not needing to take your car to a gas station for a refill.

A major selling point of EVs is the ability to recharge them at home using your domestic power supply.

Doing so overnight reduces the cost and ensures the EV is ready to go in the morning.

Thanks to electric vehicles, gas bills of up to $50 could very soon become a thing of the past.

With EV ranges improving over time, electric propulsion is becoming more and more attractive to drivers, and significantly lower fuel bills are just the start.
