An American from California has restored his Tesla Cybertruck to operation after reviving it from an ‘inoperable’ brick state.

YouTuber Out of Spec Reviews has had the Cybertruck for a while, however, it recently suffered from a rear motor failure, causing it to become inoperable.

After being towed to a Tesla service center, the YouTuber was relieved to get the car back on the road.

As it would turn out, Tesla knew about the problem and issued a recall but YouTuber never saw the notification.

Major electrical issues caused the Cybertruck failure

Early in the video, the YouTuber explained what caused the EV to fail.

Out of Spec Reviews said a sudden rear motor failure led to a high-voltage electrical fault.

That rendered the truck inoperable and left it about as useful as a brick.

The issue meant the truck had to be towed to a Tesla service center.

A complicated process was required to get it into neutral so it could be moved.

As it transpired, the failure of the motor was due to rear inverter issues.

Tesla was able to fix the issue

A further diagnosis of the truck revealed that the Cybertruck had become completely immobilized after the high-voltage system onboard shorted.

One advantage the owner had was that Tesla was able to pre-diagnose the issue before it was towed away.

That led to a faster turnaround for the repair, with the entire process taking just under three business days.

Despite these issues, he was relatively happy with the experience of driving and owning the Cybertruck.

In fact, he still had lots of praise for the Cybertruck.
