McLaren has rapidly become one of the most accomplished and greatest supercar manufacturers in the world.

Starting with the McLaren F1, its supercar range took off with the MP4-12C, and it has since spawned all-time greats like the P1, Senna, and 570S.

The supercar side operates alongside the long-time Formula 1 team that secured its first world constructor’s title since 1998 in 2024.

Incredibly, the factory produces about 22 supercars each day.

Inside the McLaren Technology Centre

Located in Woking, Great Britain, the McLaren Technology Centre is home to all things McLaren.

The Centre incorporates the HQ of the racing team and automotive business, and the McLaren Production Centre which produces its supercar lineup.

Currently, the supercar lineup includes the 750S and the new Artura Spider plus the GTS.

The factory can produce around 5,000 supercars a year, with the cheapest being the 600LT Coupe which costs around $195,000.

The Technology Centre also incorporates the famous boulevard, which is filled with some of the race team’s greatest cars.

The British company opened its HQ in 2005 with the new production centre opening in 2012.

All of its models from the MP4-12C onwards are built at the production centre, with the centre itself truly state-of-the-art.

Technological innovation

The company strives to be as technologically innovative as possible, both in its production methods and with the supercars themselves.

Incredibly, each of the 22 cars that emerge from the factory each day, is meticulously hand-assembled.

The manufacturer isn’t afraid to innovate when it comes to its cars, either.

A prime example of this is the McLaren P1.

This debuted in 2013 as its flagship product, spawning the Holy Trinity of hypercars.

That trio also included the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder.

McLaren still races in Formula 1

The automotive business hasn’t come at the expense of its F1 team, which is in a rich run of form at the moment.

The team won six races in 2024: two for Oscar Piastri and four for Lando Norris.

Norris finished runner-up to Max Verstappen in the drivers’ championship while the team won the constructors’ title for the first time since 1998.

The team has started 2025 strongly with its MCL39 taking two wins and two pole positions out of three races so far.

However, they were beaten in Japan by the brilliance of Verstappen.

The company had a rough few months at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, but they are firmly back on their feet.

What the future holds for the legendary company is undoubtedly very exciting.
