In many ways, the Bugatti Veyron managed to completely redefine the car industry.

First released in 2005, the Veyron has almost single-handedly shaped the hypercar genre.

By the end of its 10-year reign in 2015, Bugatti had sold over 450 units.

There are a number of reasons why the Bugatti Veyron is so special, let’s dive in.

Bugatti Veyron interior

To put it simply, the interior of the Bugatti Veyron is staggeringly beautiful.

Admittedly, one would expect that from a $3 million hypercar – but Bugatti spared no expense.

The marque was insistent on using the finest possible materials to craft the interior.

Pristine leather and a specially developed aluminum alloy are the key players in crafting the design.

The steering wheel is crafted from a lightweight aluminum alloy that is covered with leather.

If that wasn’t enough, the center console is hand-crafted and finished with more aluminum.

In many ways, the interior of a Veyron more closely resembles a luxury hotel with wheels and 1,000bhp.

Veyron exterior

Aside from the iconic nature of its performance, the Veyron is equally as iconic for its looks.

Bugatti developed almost every single part for the Veyron from scratch.

Company executives came up with the idea for the most powerful road car ever built.

They also developed and designed the Veyron with aerodynamics firmly in mind.

Even fifteen years later, Bugatti’s former flagship remains a truly unique-looking car.

The Veyron is described as being designed in a horsehoe shape – and it truly does reflect that.

How does the former flagship of Bugatti perform?

To quote Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars, ‘This is where the fun begins’.

When it was released, the Bugatti Veyron shook up the car world.

For one thing, it came with a top speed of well over 250mph (402kmh).

For another (and prior to EVs making it the norm), the Veyron had a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds.

One accomplishment the hypercar also achieved was in acceleration.

The Veyron was capable of accelerating from 0-200mph in a touch under 17 seconds.

That would have made the Veyron more comparable to a NASA rocket launch.

Bugatti’s 8.0 liter, quad-turbo W16 engine completely changed the hypercar game.

And, despite ultimately being succeeded by the Chiron, the Bugatti Veyron changed history.
