Apple has released a new iPhone update (iOS 17.2.1) to fix “important bugs” and prevent battery drain.

When the previous update (iOS 17.2) was released with the Journal App earlier this month, the masses were quick to take to social media.

Users were venting their frustration after downloading the update and noticing their batteries were being drained dry – not the first time users have said an update ruined their phone.

It was that bad, some users reported their batteries were draining percentage points in a matter of minutes.

As a result, they were having to recharge their phones several times a day.

“I’ve been experiencing severe battery drain since updating my phone…to 17.2, my phone is almost a week old but the battery is worse after the update,” one user posted on X.

“I noticed that after iOS 17.2 update the battery drained faster,” another stated.

Not long ago, a man revealed he’d found an iPhone setting that gives you ‘unlimited’ battery life.

Whether or not Apple has resolved the batteries issues with its latest update – who knows – but the tech giant recommends users download the update immediately.

The latest update can be downloaded immediately or overnight.

However, users must make sure their iPhone is plugged in for this to take place.

Installing the update is easy, simply go to the ‘Settings’, press ‘General’ and ‘Software Update’.

Users with compatible devices will automatically see iOs 17.2.1 listed.

Apple recommends users keep their iPhones up to date at all times to maintain the device’s security.
