An Ohio-based newspaper in the US had predicted the date for a future 2024 solar eclipse.
The newspaper predicted in 1970, that North America and Central America would witness a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024.
After 54 years, the forecast is finally about to come true and the clipping predicting the event has gone viral.

Reddit user /Fleegle1834 posted the newspaper clipping with the headline: ‘Millions See Eclipse; Next Showing in 2024’.
The user also captioned the post, ‘My neighbor has a newspaper from 1970 forecasting 2024 solar eclipse (April 8).’
According to him, the newspaper was from The Washington Post.
This bizarre event is like something straight out of ‘The Simpsons’ cartoon as the show has repeatedly predicted the future,

According to NASA, the 2024 solar eclipse will be the last one, that can be seen in the United States for a while, with the next one being on August 23, 2044.
It was just last year, that America also witnessed an extremely rare ‘ring of fire’ annular solar eclipse.
You can watch the 2023 annular solar eclipse from NASA’s live stream, but according to the space agency, it won’t happen again until 2046.
A few Reddit users commented on the post amazed by the 2024 solar eclipse prediction.
One user commented, “I remember that eclipse, and my fifth-grade teacher talking about the one to come this year.”

Another user pointed out, “What a great lede to that article: The Sun blinked yesterday and millions saw it. You don’t see reporting like that anymore.”
“I can imagine some of those old people who read the newspaper then saying: “2024, that’s a long time to come! Would the world still be existing by then?” another user commented.
However, it seems nobody can make an accurate prediction as even the newspaper missed the 2017 total solar eclipse.
