Lamborghini has just unveiled the most powerful Urus ever made – the new Urus SE.

As if the ‘Super SUV’ wasn’t already popular enough, it’s now gained an electrified version to broaden its appeal, whilst making it faster than ever.

Just to paint a clear picture, the URUS SE plug-in V8 has more power than an Aventador SVJ.

In other Lambo-related news, the Sterrato has been given a nature-inspired makeover with four limited-edition camo liveries.

But back to the Urus SE, it has gained a plug-in powertrain for 2024, making it one of the most powerful SUVs you can buy.

That powertrain is derived from that of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid – and the headline figures are nothing short of astonishing.

The SUV’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 pumps out 612 bhp on its own, but it’s paired with a 189-bhp electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission.

The electric motor gets its power from a 25.0-kWH battery situated above the rear axle, resulting in a combined 789 bhp and 701 lb-ft of torque.

To put that into perspective, that’s 132 bhp and 74 lb-ft more than the Urus S.

According to the Italian automaker, the Urus SE will complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 3.4 seconds – a tenth quicker than the Urus S – and will go on to reach a top speed of 194 mph (312 km/h).

Being a plug-in hybrid, the Urus SE also has 37 miles (60 km) of pure electric range, ample enough for getting around town.

Looks-wise, the new SUV has received some subtle design changes, like a redesigned front bumper, grille, and hood.

It’s also been treated to a new rear spoiler and diffuser, contributing to a 35 percent increase in downforce over the Urus S.

The underbody of the Urus SE has received some tweaks, too, helping divert more cooling air to the engine and brakes.

Then, on the inside, there’s a new 12.3-inch infotainment display which takes center stage on the dashboard.

It runs a new HMI system with graphics borrowed from the Revuelto, Lamborghini’s new V12 hypercar.

Although Lamborghini has yet to reveal pricing for the Urus SE, it’s safe to assume it’ll cost a bit – but you usually get what you pay for with these types of cars.
