Lockheed Martin’s F-35B Lightning II is its most advanced stealth fighter jet.

The F-35B is the Marine Corps variant of the standard F-35 Lightning II jet.

It can take off and land vertically effortlessly, just like a helicopter does.

Moreover, it can also take off and land anywhere conventionally on longer runways on major military bases.

The U.S. Marines now have a large fleet of F-35B Lightning II jets for training and professional use.

It can land and take off vertically thanks to its unique vertical lift fan and pivoting engine nozzle.

This ability can be useful and instrumental for pilots to land in unconventional areas or smaller airstrips.

Likewise, the F-35B Lightning II has a wingspan of 10.7 meters (35 feet).

Having the right wingspan is essential for such stealth fighter jets.

While a large wingspan will allow it to carry more fuel and weapons, having a lower wingspan will help the jet fight in smaller areas and steer better.

Although it is a sight to behold, the jet has other industry-leading abilities too.

Because it’s a stealth fighter jet, the fifth-generation F-35B can safely enter areas without being detected by radars.

The older fourth-gen fighter jets cannot do that.

Among other things, Lockheed Martin has also quipped this fighter jet with integrated sensors, weapon systems, and extraordinary ability to gain high speed and maneuverability.

Lockheed Martin mentions that the “fifth-gen F-35 series is more than a fighter jet, it’s a powerful force multiplier with advanced sensors and communications suites.”

The company is a pioneer in producing jets and hypersonic planes. Its latest project – the SR-72 “Son of Blackbird,” will be the fastest plane ever and will debut soon.

Even the smallest things matter in air combat, and the fifth-generation F-35B gives the pilot an advantage over older variations.
